Knowing your design; Living your purpose
Hettie Brittz’s ministry is to declare God’s evergreen hope for every individual, relationship, family and community. “Discover what God has already built into you to equip you for a fruitful life. His blueprint is full of adventure, healing, grace and new beginnings. The painful realities in your world cannot derail God’s eternal and good plan for you and your family.”
Romans 15:13 (The Message)
Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!
Welcome to Hettie Brittz
Hettie Brittz helps moms from all walks of life understand that it’s not what you do as a mom, it’s what you do with the unique gifts God’s given you. Every Mother feels unNatural in more than one mothering context. The dissonance between the task and our talents is the result of our unique God-given design. We are wonderfully made and the insecurities are only an issue while we believe the myths about the “natural mom”. As we discover our own mothering style and the implication of that style for pregnancy, the baby years, raising toddlers to teens and even mothering adult children, we understand, suddenly, why certain stretches of our mothering journey were, or even still are, daunting.
As we read about the unNatural Boxwood Mom we may see ourselves or our own mother; the Rose Bush Mom may turn out to be the one that we think has it all together; the chapters about the Pine Tree Mom may seem like they were written just for us and we will cry and laugh with her; The Palm Tree Mom could turn out to be the Mom we frown at at church for how completely “out there” her style seems to us. The mother who used to intimidate us, becomes just another unNatural Mom with her own struggles, and we become “normal”. The mom we judged becomes a mother worthy of our respect and grace. The need to “be it all” and “have it all” makes space for the desire to explore how we can be the natural mom in our very unique families. Testimonies and stories of hope from other unNatural Moms, children and husbands encourage us on this journey.

ABOUT HETTIE BRITTZ
Hettie Brittz | Walking Each Other Home AM, Part 1 5/10/2015
In this except from a Mothers Day sermon, Hettie reminds us that Christians are walking each other home. Home is a place where our hearts are safe. Do you sound, “smell” and feel like home? Would the spiritually destitute be attracted to a journey with you?
Hettie is married to the Gospel singer and music producer, Louis Brittz, and they have 2 daughters and a son.
As a former speech, language and hearing therapist, Hettie worked in a multi-disciplinary practice alongside a paediatrician, psychologist, occupational therapist and other speech therapists. She gained extensive experience in therapy and parental guidance. She also pioneered an educational upliftment project in Proclamation Hill where she worked with many challenging children (and their extremely challenging parents!), dealing with everything from nutrition and computer skills to molestation and spiritual counselling. It was while working at this centre that her passion for children and parents started her on a new career path. Since 2002 she has presented seminars across the country as well as overseas in churches, schools and corporate surroundings on a variety of topics related to Christian parenting and education. Her books “Kweek Kinders met Karakter” and “Kweek Gesonde Gesag” were published in 2007 and 2008, along with the English version “Growing Kids with Character” and “Growing Kids through Healthy Authority” in 2009.
In 2008 she was accredited by OTI Consulting (Singapore) to present DiSC profile workshops, team building seminars, Team Dimensions and Time Mastery.
The opportunity to go to Texas is a big deal! In the week before the trip I tried on some cowgirl boots, feeling like I should dress for the occasion, but I didn’t find the ones that looked just right. Instead, I put on my attitude and couldn’t wait to visit the state...read more
I am deeply touched each Easter by messages about the death of Christ through which we now live by grace. Our host in Tennessee just read an amazing article by John Ortberg (from his book "Who is this Man?") about Easter Saturday. What was the purpose of the day? He...read more
